  You may argue, that there are faster processors out there. But there is nothing to match the performance of Core I5 3570K around the price of $200 for the bare processor.  Intel Core I7 -2600K processor price starts around $280 -$290, and all other Core I7 3xxx series starts above $300 mark. So when you add the price of motherboards, memory and hard drive etc, it is hard to get a decent computer under $800 mark.
