ATX Format  - for ATX type motherboards
(All Cases include power supply, mounting screws and back plates unless stated otherwise )   
What is ATX ?.   ATX is the power supply and computer caseformat introduced by Intel with the introduction of Pentium pro processor (long forgotten). It has certain features like ability to shut it self down and also wake up from sleep modes on various activities including modem ring.
Does Pentium II and III use ATX type computer case?.  No, not really. there are many motherboards which uses the AT type cases to accommodate Pentium II and III.  But one thing is important.  That is to have adequate ventilation and spare power so that it can handle extra drives and devices in future.  If you are planning for future upgrades it may be essential at least to look for a  Midi tower with 300W power supply.
Also most new graphics cards needs at least 300w power supply. If you have problems when you install a new graphics card make sure you have adequate power supply as well.

Pentium 4 cases.
Some older versions of Pentium 4 will require new cases with mounting points for the processor. You may not be able to use the standard ATX computer caseyou have. But current processors based on Socket 472 will use standard ATX computer casewith Pentium 4 compatible power supply.  So if you like to computer caseyou have you can only replace the power supply to upgrade to Pentium 4.
